Kinder Art
Curriculum Focus: Elements of Art
Kindergarten is the quintessential year for exploring creativity and experimenting with new concepts and ideas. A significant part of the kindergarten art is enabling children to develop their fine and gross motor skills in collaboration with the use of familiar and unfamiliar art mediums and supplies.
The kindergarten art curriculum consists of an expansive collection of lessons that introduces students to the very basic elements of art- line, shape, form, color, value, texture, space.

Welcome to Art Class
On the first day of art class, students will participate in an interactive read aloud that teaches them that it is not only OK to make mistakes in art (and life), but mistakes can even be enjoyed and celebrated. Happy accidents are an opportunity to use your imagination and create something new, different, and maybe even beautiful!
Student Activity: The students will have their own chance to turn a messy scribble into a work of art!
